An X-ray tube (1) emits electrons (80) from a heated cathode (73) and allows electrons (80) to hit a target (32) to generate X rays (81). The X-ray tube (1) comprises a stem plate (4) fitted into an opening (22) in a container (21) that houses the cathode (73), a plurality of pins (5) that penetrate the stem plate (4) to apply voltage in the container (21), and pin covers (6) attached to the pins (5) at a distance from the surface of the stem plate in the container (21) so as to cover the roots of the pins (5).
