PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent system capable of reducing a network load to improve operation efficiency without consuming a hard disk uselessly. SOLUTION: In this agent system which is provided with a local computer and plural remote computers and where each computer has an agent server with the same configuration, the agent server has a program inquiring part 2 that inquires of a remote computer on a network whether or not it has a program performing a prescribed operation, a controlling part 12 that decides whether or not the program performing the prescribed operation exists on the remote computer, a program start requesting part 4 which requests the remote computer to start the existing program when the program performing the prescribed operation exists and a result receiving part 7 which acquires processed results of the program started on the remote computer.
