PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint authentication unit with enhanced operability, a system and a method for fingerprint authentication. SOLUTION: When the push-up of a shutter 4 by a finger is started, a switch 6 is closed by being pushed by the shutter and power is supplied to a fingerprint authentication circuit baseboard 7. When the shutter 4 is successively pushed up by the finger, the finger cushion reaches a linear fingerprint sensor 5. Thus, the sensor 5 in a fingerprint reading waiting state starts a work for obtaining a fingerprint image, the obtaining of the fingerprint image is ended when the shutter 4 is fully opened and the fingerprint image is stored in a memory 73. A fingerprint collation authentication processing circuit 72 collates the fingerprint image stored in the memory 73 with fingerprint data registered in advance. When the collation result is coincident the processing circuit 72 indicates a power source control circuit 74 to output a power source control signal and the circuit 74 outputs the power source control signal outside. |
