PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high luminance discharge lamp in which the electromagnetic wave noise emitted to the outside is reduced. SOLUTION: Discharge gas containing a light-emitting substance is filled in the light-emitting tube 1, and main electrodes 2a, 2b are installed at its both ends. An auxiliary electrode 3 is installed in the vicinity of the main electrode 2b at one end of the light-emitting tube 1. Between the main electrodes 2a, 2b, a series circuit comprised of a bimetal switch 4 for electrically disconnecting the starting circuit after lighting the light-emitting tube 1, a glow switch 5 for generating starting pulse, and a resistor 6 for limiting the current is connected. And the auxiliary electrode 3 is connected to the connecting point of the bimetal switch 4 and the glow switch 5 through a resistor 8 for limiting the current flowing at the time of glow discharge. A capacitor 7 for noise reduction is connected between the both ends of the glow switch 5, and the high frequency current that is generated at the glow switch 5 at the lamp starting flows through the capacitor 7, which prevents its conduction to the power source side. |
