PURPOSE: A color cathode ray tube is provided to improve color purity of color cathode ray tube by minimizing thermal distortion of shadow mask caused due to the thermal distortion of support frame. CONSTITUTION: A color cathode ray tube comprises a panel having a fluorescent screen formed at the inner surface of the panel; a shadow mask disposed with a predetermined spacing at the fluorescent screen of the panel; and a support frame for supporting the shadow mask. The support frame includes a bottom surface section formed in the direction perpendicular to the tube axis, and a skirt section extended nearly parallel to the tube axis. The skirt section includes a longer side, a shorter side and a corner, wherein the corner is protruded toward the tube axis. The protruded corner of the skirt section has a radius of curvature of 30mm to 80mm.
