PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fuel for fuel cell having a low supply cost and not causing problems of handling. SOLUTION: This hydrocarbon-based fuel composition has >=89 octane number by a research method, <=15 vol.% aromatic component, <=1 ppm sulfur content, 5 % distillation temperature of >=25 deg.C, 50% distillation temperature of >=75 deg.C to <=100 deg.C, 95% distillation temperature of <=190 deg.C and <=2.0 atomic ratio (H/C ratio) of hydrogen to carbon. Especially, the composition comprises 5-30 wt.% of an alcohol or ether having >=25 deg.C to 190 deg.C boiling point and 70-95 wt.% of a hydrocarbon. |
