Disclosed herein is a styling cosmetic composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium predominantly comprising water, at least one cationic polyurethane of elastic nature. Also disclosed are cosmetic treatment processes for shaping or holding the hairstyle comprising applying the styling cosmetic composition to the hair. There are also disclosed methods of shaping or holding the hair comprising applying the composition to the hair, such that the resulting hair exhibits at least one property chosen from persistence over time and resistant to moisture.
