PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide maraging steel of high performance having excellent fatigue strength in spite of its inexpensiveness. SOLUTION: In the maraging steel comprising, by mass, 0.2 to 3.0% Ti and≤5 ppm Mg, the maximum length of Ti based inclusions is≤10μm, and also, among all the Ti based inclusions with the maximum length of≥3μm present in 100 mm<SP>2</SP>of the cross-section, the ratio of the Ti based inclusions with Mg-containing oxide as nuclei is≥5%.
