PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing lithium trifluoromethanesulfonate, by which content of hydroxy group contained in a product during production is reduced. SOLUTION: The method for producing lithium trifluoromethanesulfonate comprises a process for fluorinating methanesulfonyl fluoride in anhydrous hydrogen fluoride by an electrolytic method to give produced gas containing trifluoromethanesulfonyl fluoride and sulfonyl difluoride, a process for reacting the produced gas with an aqueous solution or slurry of lithium carbonate to give an aqueous solution containing lithium trifluoromethanesulfonate, lithium fluoride, lithium carbonate and lithium sulfate, a process for removing lithium fluoride and lithium carbonate from the aqueous solution and a process for concentrating and drying the aqueous solution from which lithium fluoride is removed.
