PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new 1,3-benzothiazine compound; and to provide a method for producing the compound. SOLUTION: The 1,3-benzothiazine compound is provided. The method for producing the 1,3-benzothiazine compound involves reacting an N-sulfenylamino acid ester compound or a 1,2-benzoisothiazolidin-3-one compound with a base. (In the formulas, R<SP>1</SP>is an atom or a group selected from a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group and the like; R<SP>2</SP>is an alkyl group or a cycloalkyl group; R<SP>3</SP>is an atom or a group selected from an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group and the like; and n is an integer of 1-4).
