Production of catalyst-coated polymer electrolyte membrane (CCM) comprises (a) providing a polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM), (b) applying a formulation containing catalyst to at least one face of the PEM; and (c) tempering the coated PEM at a temperature within the range +- 20[deg]C of the glass transition temperature of the ionomer of the PEM. An independent claim is also included for the CCM produced by this process.
