PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize reading/writing of system information even when a path with a plurality of disk devices is defective regarding a storage system having a plurality of control modules controlling a plurality of disk memory devices, and to realize output of log data when either control module is defective. SOLUTION: System disk device units (453 and 454) storing log data are built in a plurality of control modules (4-0 to 4-3) controlling a plurality of disk memory devices (2-0 to 2-15). Log data of one control module is stored in a system disk of the other mounted control module, and equivalent processing of the log data is performed.
