PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device securing high security while facilitating input and management of passwords with respect to a plurality of storages, and capable of coping with requests of various types of users with respect to security. SOLUTION: First and second locking methods for a plurality of HDDs (magnetic disk units) 32Y, 32M, 32C, and 32K are prepared such that change-overs can be carried out between the two types. In the first method, the same password is used with respect to the plurality of HDDs. In the second method, a certain release order is determined with respect to the plurality of HDDs, and a password of an HDD that is one subsequent in the release order is stored in each HDD. When releasing a use limit, first, a use limit of an HDD at the top of the release order is released, and then, passwords stored in released HDDs are used to sequentially carry out releasing of use limits of HDDs that are next in the release order.
