PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that facilitates the maintenance of information provided by an information provision system. SOLUTION: A request sent from a terminal device 30 to a Web server 10 is received by a communication part 11 and passed to a request processing part 12. The request processing part 12 reads out information specified by the request from a storage device 13 and passes it to the communication part 11, which in turn sends it. A request monitoring part 14 determines whether or not a URL specified by the request indicates a storage location of information set not to be provided. Only if the determination finds that the URL is to information not to be provided, the request processing part 12 is instructed to send alternative information set to be provided in place of the information.
