PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance productivity of smoke detector by improving workability, in assembling of smoke detecting section itself, insect screen and labyrinth. SOLUTION: The smoke detector comprises a smoke detecting section body 5, which has a light-emitting section and a light-receiving section 8 provided on the position, where light emitted from the light-emitting section is not directly received to receive the scattered light by smoke flowing into chamber, a labyrinth for shielding light from outside so as to inhibit direct incident into the chamber, and a cylindrical insect screen for enclosing the periphery of the labyrinth. Additionally, a presser bar spring 26 is provided for shielding the light-receiving section from electric noise, as well as fixing it to the smoke detecting section body. This presser bar spring 26 is equipped with a U-shaped holder pressing strip which tightly holds both sides of a light-receiving section holder 27 on the smoke-detecting section body 5, and a light-receiving section pressing strip, located on the U-shaped bottom of the holder pressing strip that presses and holds the light-receiving section 8 against the light-receiving section holder 27 as a unit.
