OPTICAL NODE UNIT HAVING MULTIPLEXING FUNCTION IN HYBRID FIBER COAXIAL CABLE AND METHOD FOR THE SAME

Provided is an optical node unit(ONU) with a multiplexing function in a hybrid fiber coaxial cable and a method for the same. The ONU includes an optoelectric converter for converting a plurality of optical signals into a plurality of electric signals, a downstream signal processor for combining each of the down converted downstream channel signals and a coaxial cable available frequency bandwidth signal converted into the electric signals at the optoelectric converter to output the combined signals to a corresponding sub-cell in the coaxial cable network, an upstream signal processor for up-converting the upstream signal received from a plurality of sub-cells in the coaxial cable network into a plurality of up-converted signals with a different frequency in the coaxial cable available frequency bandwidth to combine the up-converted signals and an electrooptic converter connected to the upstream signal processor for transmitting the converted optical signals to the optical cable network.
