CARBON MATERIAL FOR ELECTRIC DUAL-LAYER CAPACITOR, ELECTRIC DUAL-LAYER CAPACITOR, AND CARBON MATERIAL MANUFACTURING METHOD

<p>There is provided a carbon material for an electric dual-layer capacitor exhibiting excellent charge/discharge characteristics when constituting an electric dual-layer capacitor. The carbon material for the electric dual-layer capacitor is used as a polarizable active material of the electric dual-layer capacitor. The carbon material is characterized in that when measurement is performed by the electron spin resonance method without adding any additives, it is possible to obtain a peak line width not greater than 2mT and a peak intensity when converted into an unpaired electron quantity per 1g not smaller than 1 × 10<SUP>19</SUP>. The carbon material for the electric dual-layer capacitor is a carbon material from which the remaining functional group is removed. Accordingly, it is possible to suppress the reaction between the remaining functional group and the electrolyte when the capacitor is formed and it is possible to obtain a capacitor having excellent charge/discharge characteristics.</p>
