PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phenol resin molding material improved in mechanical strength, enabling a ratio of a linear expansion coefficient in a machine direction to that in a transverse direction to near 1, and having new constitution. SOLUTION: This molding material contains a phenol resin as a base, wherein artificial zeolite is mixed thereinto as a reinforcing filler. The artificial zeolite having a spherical particle shape is preferably mixed in an amount of 40-200 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the phenol resin. A phenol resin molded product which is molded out of the phenol resin molding material has good isotropy (especially, the ratio of the linear expansion coefficient in the machine direction to that in the transverse direction nears 1 at a high temperature).
