An air removing device for a press is provided to reliably prevent the vacuum adsorption phenomenon from being generated by detecting the bonded condition of the upper and lower dies and forcibly injecting the compression air through the air vent hole. An air removing device for a press is composed of a lower die(3) mounted at a lower bolster(5); a blank holder(9) installed through a cushion pin(7) at the bolster; an upper die(11) mounted at an upper slider(13); an air compressor(21) formed with an air vent hole(17) penetrated to a molded surface(15) and connected to the air vent hole through a pneumatic pipe(19) to generate the compression air according to the control signal; a contact sensor(25) formed at one side of the face surface of the blank holder to detect the time when the upper die is lowered and operated at the blank holder and to output the signal; and a controller(27) controlling the operation of the air compressor according to the output signal of the contact sensor. A check valve(29) is placed on the pneumatic pipe to guide the flow direction of the compression air toward the air vent hole.
