<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal capable of automatically changing priorities of a plurality of communication means while suppressing power consumption by invalidating the function of a communication module at a place where communication can not be performed or at a place where it is not necessary to perform communication. <P>SOLUTION: When a non-contact IC module 170 mounted in a portable terminal 100 is used, an IC card reader/writer 230 notifies the portable terminal 100 about information on a communication service offered near the portable terminal. In accordance with the information, a control unit 110 powers on a portable terminal communication module 120, validates the function and performs required setting.
