PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly detect an abnormality in an initial charging means and a braking power consumption means by a simple circuit configuration. SOLUTION: This is an abnormality detecting circuit for an inverter provided with an inverter section 9 which inverts DC power to AC power, an intermediate capacitor 8 inserted in a DC intermediate circuit, an initial charging means 15 which prevents rush current from entering the intermediate capacitor 8 for a specified period of time after the start-up, and a braking power consumption means which consumes braking power supplied from a motor 10, a load, through the inverter section 9. By monitoring the conduction state of a series circuit constituted of an initial charging resistor 4 in the initial charging means 15 and a braking resistor 6 in the braking power consumption means 18, an abnormality in the initial charging means 15 or braking power consumption means 18 is detected. |
