PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic luminescent element which is extremely good in luminescent efficiency and brightness and is durable.

SOLUTION: This organic luminescent element comprising an anode and a cathode and a layer comprising an organic compound and nipped between the anode and the cathode is characterized in that the layer comprising an organic compound comprises at least one benzo[a]fluoranthene compound represented by general formula [I].
