A feed-forward amplifier and a control method thereof are provided to prevent generation of a complex nonlinear distortion by controlling an operation point of a harmonic reaction amplifier used as a main amplifier based on an output of a feed-forward amplifier. A distributor(11) distributes an input signal to a linear delivery path and a main amplifier path in which a main amplifier is inserted. A synthetic distributor(15) synthesizes an output signal of the main amplifier path with an output signal of the linear delivery path. The synthetic distributor generates an input signal of an output delivery path of the main amplifier and an input signal of a distortion injection path in which a sub amplifier is inserted. A power combiner(24) synthesizes an output signal of an output delivery path of the main amplifier with an output signal of a distortion injection path. The main amplifier is a harmonic reaction amplifier. A first directional coupler extracts a part of the output signal of the power combiner. A control part(43) controls an operation point of the harmonic reaction amplifier based on a signal extracted by the first directional coupler.
