PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output device capable of outputting images suitable for observation of a subject that consists of a plurality of translucent objects which are overlapped with each other three-dimensionally.SOLUTION: An image output device comprises: an illumination part 110 which emits illumination light, which does not substantially contain light flux crossing with each other, to a subject which consists of a plurality of translucent objects which are overlapped with each other three-dimensionally sequentially from a plurality of different illumination positions by using the subject as a reference; an imaging element 120 which acquires a plurality of images of the subject expressed by the illumination light which was emitted from each of the plurality of illumination positions and transmitted through the subject; an image determination part 230 which determines one or more images that the degree of overlapping of the translucent objects in an imaging direction of the images satisfies a predetermined condition based on brightness distribution in the images out of the plurality of images acquired by the imaging element 120; and an output part 300 which outputs the images determined by the image determination part 230.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
