Provided is a load detection device comprising: an input member to which a load is inputted; a cylindrical body provided with a strain-inducing section where strain is generated by the load inputted to the input member; a strain detection element that is fixed to a surface of the strain-inducing section opposite to a surface abutting against the input member, and that detects the strain generated in the strain-inducing section; a circuit board which is arranged in a state of facing the strain detection element in a cylinder axis direction of the cylindrical body, and to which detection information from the strain detection element is inputted; and a connection member comprising a first connection section electrically connected to the strain detection element and a second connection section electrically connected to the circuit board. The load detection device is configured so that: a mounting section, in the strain detection element, for mounting onto the first connection section is provided in a state of facing the circuit board; and a mounting section, in the circuit board, for mounting onto the second connection section is provided to a surface of the circuit board opposite to the surface oriented toward the first connection section. |
