PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance cooling efficiency in an electro optical device such as a liquid crystal device.SOLUTION: An electro optical device comprises: an electro optical panel 500; and a holding member 610 for holding the electro optical panel. The holding member 610 comprises: a first holding section 611a extending along a first side of the electro optical panel 500; and second holding sections 612a and 612b extending along a second side intersecting the first side of the electro optical panel 500. The first side intersects a direction in which cooling air flows. The first holding section 611a is formed so as to be flush with at least one panel surface of a light incident side and a light emitting side of the electro optical panel. The second holding sections 612a and 612b are formed so as to project from at least one panel surface. |
