PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay iron core which has direct current magnetic properties equal to those of pure iron as the one provided generally with corrosion resistance even if nickel plating which has been regarded as inevitable treatment heretofore is omitted. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic material for a relay has an alloy composition containing, by weight, 5.0 to <8.0% Cr, 0.001 to 0.10% Ti and 0.0001 to 0.010% B, and in which the content of N is controlled to <=0.015%, C to <=0.010%, Si to <=1.0%, Al to <=1.0%, Mn to <=0.50%, P to <=0.020%, S to <=0.030% and O to <=0.005%, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. |
