Swash-plate axial piston machine, the pistons of which are each supported against the swash plate by way of a sliding shoe, each sliding shoe having a sliding shoe plate (10), and a holding-down plate (24) being provided which has a bore (25) for each sliding shoe and which, with the edge of the bore (25), lies opposite the edge of the sliding shoe plate (10), the holding-down plate (24) being loaded by a pretensioned spring (15), the force of which is transmitted by way of a ring (22) with a spherical-cap-shaped surface to the holding-down plate (24), the ring (22), for the purpose of preventing unnecessarily high friction on the sliding shoes, bearing against a stop (27) connected to the shaft (3), which stop is arranged in such a way that, when the ring (22) bears against the stop (27), the distance between the swash plate (12) and the holding-down plate (24) is greater by a slight, predetermined play than the thickness of the sliding shoe plates (10). <IMAGE>
