PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup of high packaging accuracy, stable quality and a small size. SOLUTION: The optical pickup has a light source unit 110 contg. a laser beam source 112 for emitting an illumination light beam for illuminating a recording medium, a diffraction grating 142 for splitting the reflected light beam reflected by the recording medium to a plurality of light beams by diffraction and separating these beams from the illumination light beam, a plurality of photodetectors 152 and 154 for detecting the light beams split by the diffraction grating 142, and a substrate 132 which is a base for holding the light source unit 110 and the photodetectors 152 and 154. The base 132 has UV transmittability and a holding member body 116 of the light source unit 110 is fixed to the under surface of the substrate 132 by a UV curing adhesive 162. The photodetectors 152 and 154 are fixed atop the substrate 132 by a UV curing adhesive 164. |
