PURPOSE:To obtain cathodic electrolyte which can well stand long-period cycles by preventing any development and growth of dendrite by blending a bromine- complex forming agent, a dendrite-suppressing agent and a conductivity-increasing agent together. CONSTITUTION:As to the composition of cathodic electrolyte for a liquid-circulation-type zinc-bromine secondary battery, zinc bromine working as an active material is used as a base, methyl ethyl morpholinium and methyl ethyl pyrrolidinium are used as bromine-complex forming agents and Sn<2+>, Pb<2+> and/or methyldodecyl morpholinium bromide or methyldecyl morpholinium bromide are/is used as dendrite-suppressing agents. In addition, potassium chloride or ammonium chloride is added in order to increase the conductivity of the electrolyte. As a result, generation of dendrite is minimized, thereby enabling practical cycle operation to be carried out. |
