Adjustable suspension strut

A description is given of an adjustable suspension strut (5) in which a helical compression spring (8) is preloaded between a lower and an upper spring plate (9, 10). One of these spring plates (9) can be displaced axially. The actual displacement is undertaken via a worm gearing. The worm (16) can be actuated via a hand wheel (11). The worm wheel (15a) is supported via a butting slope (15b) against the butting slope (14b) of an adjustable cup (14). By rotating the worm wheel (15) the adjustable cup (14) is displaced axially upwards or downwards. This brings about a change in the preloading of the helical compression spring (8). <IMAGE>
