PURPOSE:To improve the max. optical density and the min. optical density of the title material, without deteriorating the graininess of a sensitive material by incorporating a prescribed monodisperse emulsion and a specified yellow dyestuff in the sensitive material, and by specifying a silver iodide content in a photosensitive emulsion. CONSTITUTION:The sensitive material contains the monodisperse emulsion (A) having a mean particle size of <0.3mum and the yellow dyestuff shown by formula I, and the mean silver iodide content in the whole of photosensitive silver halide emulsion is specified to <=6mol.%. In the formula, X and Y are each cyano or carboxyl group, etc., R1 and R2 are each hydrogen or halogen atom, etc., R3 and R4 are each hydrogen or alkyl group, etc., L is a methine group. The dyestuff shown by the formula is composed of a compd. shown by formula II, etc., and the emulsion A is incorporated in one or more layers of the photosensitive emulsion layer. |
