PURPOSE:To obtain the title modified yarn having excellent antistatic properties and sweat absorbing properties, by copolymerizing the end of a polyester containing ethylene terephthalate as a constituent unit with a specific compound to give a polyester, treating the polyester with a specific treating solution and heat-treating. CONSTITUTION:Yarn comprising a polyester obtained by copolymerizing at least part of end of polymer chain of a polyester containing ethylene terephthalate as a constituent unit with 1-8wt.% polyalkylene glycol shown by the formula (R1 is monofunctional organic group containing no active hydrogen; R2 is alkylene; n is 20-40) is pretreated with an alkali, immersed in a treating solution containing a polyepoxide compound (preferable example, polyhydric alcohol polyglycidyl ether) under heating, further dipped in a treating solution having a polyoxyalkylene (2-4C alkylene) unit and containing a diamine and heat-treated to give modified polyester yarn capable of maintaining excellent antistatic properties, sweat absorbing properties and stain resistance even by repeated washing and heat treatment of iron, etc. |
