PURPOSE:To obtain print images adaptive to various kinds of input video signals and to reduce the handling time of a user by controlling the timing and area of the writing in the image memory of a video signal based on the set value according to the horizontal synchronizing frequency of the video signal and the detection result of the number of line. CONSTITUTION:A CPU measures the horizontal synchronizing frequency of an input video signal S1 and measures the number of line of the input video signal S1 per frame. Next, the CPU judges which of tables the input video signal S1 belongs to based on the measured result of the horizontal synchronizing frequency and the number of line. Subsequently, the CPU reads various kinds of set values of the table to which the input signal S1 belongs from a nonvolatile memory and starts a system by the read set value. In this case, a video printer 1 is constituted to switch various kinds of set values in accordance with a video signal S1 to be inputted and to control the writing timing and writing area to the image memory of the input video signal 31 based on these set values. |
