PURPOSE: To generate strong swirl flow effectively separating steam bubble and liquid drop with a simple structure in reactor fuel assemblies without strongly disturbing the flow of liquid and steam mixture along the fuel rods. CONSTITUTION: Upper edge of band plates 8, 9 and 10 extending between fuel rods 1, 2, 3 and 4 in a fuel assembly move to tongue pieces 19 and 20 which are twisted against the band plates with increasing the twist angle to their ends overproportionally. Especially, the tongue piece parts 25 and 26 position perpendicularly to the band plates and are strongly twisted so as to be welded to the corresponding tongue piece parts of neighboring band plates to form horizontal band plates of square grid.
