The operating unit includes a microprocessor or a microcontroller, and a separate switching logic circuit. A user interface and a voltage source are also included. In a rest state, a signal is supplied to the user interface and the switching logic is connected to the voltage source. A second signal applied to the user interface connects the microprocessor or microcontroller to the voltage source to reach an active state. In the rest state, only the switching logic circuit is connected to the voltage source. The operating unit is portable.
