<p>A spherical layered particle which is composed of a core particle and a layer part provided on the surface of the core particle. The compression elasticity of the layer part is smaller than that of the core part. When the spherical layered particle is deformed under an arbitrary load and then the load is removed, the restoring ability is more excellent than that of any conventional elastic particle made of a single material and the compression strength is larger than that of any conventional elastic particle. Therefore, when such spherical layered particles are used as spacers, the differences of the displacement values of the spacer particles which are caused by the load differences applied to the respective spacer particles when a liquid crystal display cell is manufactured can be reduced. As a result, the uniformity of the cell gap can be maintained.</p> |
