PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove volative hydrocarbons hard to treat by ozone decomposition in purification treatment of air containing malodorous components in by bringing such air into contact with a catalyst having ozone deodorizing function and an adsorbent having adsorbing capacity of volatile hydrocarbons. SOLUTION: A malodorous component relatively low in mol.wt., for excample, ammonia, hydrogen sulfide or the like, can be oxidatively decomposed by the contact with a deodorizing catalyst in the presence of ozone to be removed or reduced. Then, at a time of the purification treatment of air containing unpleasant malodorous component of a house, an office, a hospital or a factory, the malodorous component is removed by the contact with the catalyst having ozone deodorizing function and volatile hydrocarbons not removed by an ozone catalytic deodorization method, especially, compds. having a benzene ring are treated so, as to be removed by an adsorbent. At a time of execution, an ozone generating mechanism, a dust removing mechanism, an adsorbent of volatile hydrocarbons and the ozone deodorizing catalyst are successively provided to constitute a purifying apparatus. |
