<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform the adjustment of a hypoid gear and a backlash of a hypoid pinion in short time without using a spacer of various kinds of thickness by performing a female and male fitting for a rack housing and a motor housing and providing a bearing supporting a motor shaft over this female and male fitting part. SOLUTION: A female and male fitting is performed for a rack housing 10 and a motor housing 15 and a bearing 19 of a motor shaft 14 is provided on this female and male fitting part. Because core deviation of a hypoid pinion and the motor shaft 14 to be a characteristic in a single motor type electric power steering device is eliminated, backlash sound due to the core alignment deviation is not generated and the motor shaft 14 is supported on the side of a female element 10a of the rack housing 10 and the side of a male element 15a of the motor housing 15 by halves, the alignment of a hypoid gear 9 and a hypoid pinion 17 can be surely obtained, and gear noise of the hypoid gear 9 and the hypoid pinion 17 is reduced.</p> |
