PRODUCTION OF PARENT MATERIAL OF GLASS FOR OPTICAL FIBER AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing glass parent material for optical fibers without generating condensation even in a state of a cold chamber just after the ignition of a burner in the VAD method and a producing apparatus for the same. SOLUTION: This production of a glass parent material for optical fibers is to introduce a large amount of air into a chamber 1 to protect from condensation in a cold state just after the ignition of a burner when producing the porous parent material for optical fibers by depositing glass fine particles synthesized in a burner flame to a target, while keep the internal wall at a constant temperature or more and begin to deposit. This apparatus for producing the parent material for optical fibers is constituted by installing an opening 7 for introducing air and capable of adjusting degrees of the opening to a producing apparatus for the parent material of glass having the burner 2, a target 4 and an exhaust pipe 3.
