PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display characters on a liquid crystal panel in such state that they seem to rise by giving a feeling of perspective to a picture on a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: Two light transmission plates 14A and 14B are put one over the other with a diffusion layer 17 between them, and a light source 16 is caused to face their side faces. A reflection layer 18 which reflects incident light of the light source 16 and a diffusion layer 17 which diffuses this reflected light are formed on both of front and rear sides of one light transmission plate 14B as a rear layer. The other light transmission plate 14A is superposed on the light transmission plate 14B with the diffusion layer 17 between them as a front layer which is caused to face a liquid crystal panel 11, and a print pattern 20 irradiated with light of the light source 16 which is made incident on the light transmission plate 14A is formed between the light transmission plate 14A and the diffusion layer 17. Thus, characters displayed on the liquid crystal panel 11 are seen in the rising state in contrast to the print pattern 20. |
