PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a needle protector that can easily enclose a needle and reduce the possibility of erroneous piercing at the time of enclosing the needle. SOLUTION: A side wall of a cylindrical protector body 1 made of elastic synthetic resin is axially slit over the whole length to provide a slit 2. A pair of locking pieces 3 and 3 are provided opposedly protruded being extended outward from the side wall of the protector body 1 on the opposed side to the slit 2. The slit 2 is opened when a pair of locking pieces 3, 3 are brought close to each other against the resilience of the protector body 1. At this time a needle is enclosed in the protector body 1 sideways from the slit 2.
