PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner which is provided with a suction device for floors to enable cleaning of a surface desired to clean such as floor efficiently or being combined with an energy saving performance. SOLUTION: In an electric vacuum cleaner which comprises a suction device for floors adapted to clean up a surface 25 desired to clean by a suction force and a body of the cleaner and an electric blower built therein as suction force generation source. The suction device 40 for floors is provided with an angle detector to detect an angle in the width-wise moving direction with respect to the running direction of the suction device for floors to control an input of the electric blower according to an angle of moving in the width-wise direction with respect to the running direction detected by the angle detector.
