METHOD OF ADDING A CATALYST FOR REMOVING PARTICLES FORMED IN BURNING LIGHT OIL AND AN APPARATUS

PURPOSE: Devised is an addition of catalytic compounds to diesel fuel to remove the particulate material from the fuel combustion. The equipment for addition of catalytic compounds is also disclosed. CONSTITUTION: Sodium naphthenate, copper acetylacetonate, copper caprylate, copper acetate, copper carbonate, ferric acetylacetonate, ferric stearate, and sodium ethylhexanoate may be used as a catalytic compound (6) for removal the particulate material. These compounds have a solubility of below 500ppm in diesel fuel. To introduce the catalytic compound into fuel, the compound is packed in a permeable bag (5) such as non-woven cloth or filtering paper. And then a line (4) connected with the bag (5) is fixed with a stopper (1) at the fuel entrance (2) of fuel case (3) to have the compound dissolve homogeneously in fuel. Alternatively, the equipment containing the catalytic compound (6) is installed between the fuel case and the engine. When fuel is fed into the engine, the catalytic compound (6) can be dissolved into the fuel to remove the particulate material.
