PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a light receiving amount from a scanner without reducing the precision by re-scanning the same image frame by means of the scanner and adding image data obtained by means of first scanning to that obtained in the case of re-scanning. SOLUTION: A negative film is set and the image frame is scanned by the scanner 7. Read image data is covered into digital data by and A/D converting part 10a and temporarily stored in a memory 10b. Then a judging means 10c judges whether the light receiving amount is equal to below a prescribed one or not. In the case it is judged to be equal to or below the prescribed amount, a center control part 10e gives a command to the scanner 7 and a pulse motor 9 to scan the same image frame again. A signal processing part 10d executes the addition processing of image data read by second-time scanning to that read by first-time scanning and it is stored in the memory 10b.
