The invention relates to an acupuncture needle comprising a holding end and a piercing end. Said needle consists of a hollow needle body (2) provided with a light guide (3) coaxially placed therein, of an absorption surface or discharge surface for biophoton radiation situated on the distal piercing en d of the needle (1), and of a prism (4), which is located on the proximal holding end of the needle (1), has a 180~ deflection and is connected to the light guide (3) in a light-conductive manner.
