PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of processing images whereby printing failures caused by one or more defective nozzles are corrected by redistributing image values to nozzles without defects. SOLUTION: An image-recording apparatus 200 is disclosed which comprises a plurality of forming elements 2002 for forming images, a memory 2006 indicating a relative desirability of utilizing the forming elements 2002 to form images, and processing means 2008 for computing image recording signals with the use of input image signals 2012 and stored data. Using a particular forming element is biased dependent on the relative desirability data of the other forming elements, the corresponding input signal for the particular forming element and a term related to the particular forming element.
