PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic for hair which gives excellent gloss to the hair after being dried and no dryness and looseness. SOLUTION: This cosmetic for hair features comprising including a guanidine derivative and/or its salt represented by following general formula (1) [wherein, R1 is a 5-40C methyl branched alkyl or alkenyl group; (m) is 0 or 1; A is CHR6(CH2)n R6 is H or COO R7 (R7 is H or a 1-6C branched or straight chain alkyl or alkenyl group capable of being substituted with OH groups); (n) is an integer of 0-9}; R2 and R3 are each H or a 1-12C branched or straight chain alkyl or alkenyl group capable of being substituted with OH groups; R4 and R5 are each H or a 1-6C branched or straight chain alkyl or alkenyl group capable of being substituted with OH groups; X is an inorganic or organic acid].
