PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the manufacturing cost of a liquid crystal display device without decreasing the display quality. SOLUTION: Upper and lower pixel electrodes 6 adjacent to each other are separated from each other by a Cs (additional capacitance) wiring 4 and a peripheral light shielding pattern 9 in the display area is also used as the Cs wiring of the outermost peripheral pixel electrodes 6. By this structure, the reduction of display quality affected by the time constant of the peripheral light shielding pattern 9 can be suppressed.
