LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a satisfactory display in the overall display area by eliminating display irregularity near the liquid crystal injection port of a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: A lower substrate SUB1 having thin film transistors for switching to select pixels on the inner face and an upper substrate SUB2 having color filters of a plurality of colors are disposed facing each other through a liquid crystal composition layer and laminated with a sealing material SL applied to surround the display region AR of the upper substrate SUB2 while partially leaving a cut region to be used as the liquid crystal injection port INJ. After the liquid crystal composition is injected through the liquid crystal injection port INJ, the liquid crystal injection port INJ is sealed with a sealing material PLG. The proportion of the structural components of the sealing agent PLG remaining as impurities in the liquid crystal composition is specified to <=1.0/10-4 to the whole peak area of the liquid crystal composition measured by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry.
